This is our Blues Option Retube Kit and we but it together just for Blues players! This will drop the gain down in the drive channel and make it much more usable and natural sounding. This kit contains an ECC832 for V1, a standard ECC83S for V2 and a balanced ECC83S for the phase inverter in V3. The default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ E34L's but you can configure this kit to use the JJ EL34's, EL34II's, KT77’s or Big bottle 6CA7's by clicking on the "Customize" button!

The Balanced ECC83S is located in V3 farthest from the power tubes. The ECC832 is located in V1 closest to the input jack.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the power tubes such as EL34’s, E34L’s KT77 and 6CA7’s. These are available in the "Related Products” tab as a set of two. These will greatly decrease tube rattle.

The original YCV 50 amps prior to April of 2008 have a bias compensation circuit but it's just to balance unmatched power tubes. It does not adjust the plate current up or down, it is basically a fixed bias amp. These amps can use 6L6GC's in a moderate grade and the bias will be right where it should be. They can also use hot grades of the JJ KT77's to get the bias right and give a little more British flavor.

All YCV 50 amps post April 2008 are full adjustable bias. All you need to check and adjust the bias is a bias probe and a Multimeter, or our all-in-one Eurotubes "Pro One" bias probe that reads both the plate current and the plate voltage simultaneously.
