On November the fourth 2013 Mr. Jan Jurcho passed on. It was very sudden and unexpected. He was a very honorable man, a very good man. I first met Jan in 1998 just outside of Prague where my cousin Jiri had set up a meeting for me to purchase tubes from Jan the owner of JJ Electronic. We had lunch and I had a million questions I wanted to ask after finding out that Jan had worked many years for the Tesla company. His extensive knowledge of tubes and the history of European tubes in general completely fascinated me. Jan kindly accommodated my obvious curiosity, answering an almost endless number of questions. My father who took the photo below finally gave me the look which clearly expressed "are you going to keep this poor man here all day?" I realized that I was probably running this a bit long so we left to conclude the purchase of a suitcase full of the tubes I had requested. After the transaction Jan shook my hand, looked me in the eye, and asked if I wanted to be a dealer / importer for JJ Electronic. A few seconds passed as we look at each other and I answered "yes". Jan smiled, we shook hands again and I knew that I had met a man of honesty and integrity.Mr. Jan Jurcho is pictured on the far right.Since that day the friendship and working relationship between all the good people at JJ Electronic and Eurotubes has grown beyond anything I ever imagined. Their hospitality during visits and response to our requests for new tubes and products is overwhelming. Over the years Jan has passed his knowledge and since of business on to his son Tomas Jurcho, leaving JJ Electronic in his most capable hands. Below are just a few of the photo's we have taken over the years with Jan, Tomas and the Eurotubes crew. Jan, we will all miss you very much.Bob Pletka, Carla Pletka, Eddie Pletka, Jay Haygood, Michael Kohn, Aaron Byers. Eurotubes.
