A number of years ago a question kept coming up about "what Bob liked best in his Dual Rec". Everyone that played his amp here in the studio commented about how lush the cleans were and how smooth the other channels were and how much gain it had. We decided to make the kit available to everyone and we called it the "Personal Fave".

The front end starts out with a long plate Gold Pin ECC803S for V1, followed by a Gold Pin ECC83S in V2, next comes a handpicked High gain ECC83S for V3, a standard ECC83S in V4 and a Balanced ECC83S in V5. Headroom and chime in Channel 1, Smooth and round in Channel 2, Completely over the top in channel 3.

The default power tube selection is a matched quad of JJ 6L6GC's in a warmer grade to accommodate the fixed bias power section. With the customize option you can configure this kit to use a range of other power tubes including EL34 types, 6V6's and Big Bottle tubes. The original Personal Fave kit shipped with an integrated power section. You can find that lineup in the "Personal Fave Integrated Quad" kit.

V1 is located physically closest to the input jack on the front panel. The remaining positions go in numerical order with V5 being physically farthest from the input jack.

V1=ECC803S Gold Pin
V2=ECC83S Gold Pin
V3=ECC83S High Gain
V4=ECC83S Standard
V5=ECC83S Balanced

These amps are fixed bias with no adjustment other than the switch to go between EL34 mode and 6L6 mode. 6L6GC's, KT66's and KT88's are run in the 6L6 mode.

EL34's, 6V6S's, E34L's, KT77's and 6CA7's are run in the EL34 mode.
