Want a really smooth and rich tone with less grit? This is the Gold Pin Option Retube Kit for the Laney Ironheart 60 Head and Combo Amps. The preamp section uses four Gold Pin ECC83S's with one balanced for the phase inverter in V4. The default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ Electronic 6L6GC’s but you can configure this kit to use the JJ 5881's, EL34II's, E34L's, EL34’s, KT77’s or Big Bottle 6CA7’s by clicking on the "Customize" button.

The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located closest to the power tubes in V4.

Combo amps are very hard on power tubes because of all the vibrations and these will very often cause tube rattle at certain frequencies. If you have chosen to use the JJ 6L6GC's then we will ship your kit with the special Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge which will greatly reduce any tube rattle. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms. For all other tubes such as EL34’s, KT77's and 6CA7's, we recommend using our EuroDamper rings. These will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These are adjustable bias amps and all you need to check and adjust the bias is a bias probe and a Multimeter, or our all-in-one Eurotubes "Pro One" bias probe that reads both the plate current and the plate voltage simultaneously. You can find all these under the Related Products Tab.
