Hughes & Kettner Tube 20 & Studio 84 Standard Retube Kit
Product Details

Looking to warm up your HK 20? This is our Standard Retube Kit for the Hughes & Kettner Tube 20, Studio 84 and Edition 20 Combo Amps. It uses two ECC83S's with one being current balanced for the phase inverter in V2. The default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ EL84's. With the Customize option you can configure this kit to use the JJ EL844's which will drop the power output a couple decibels (ideal for players wanting decreased headroom/output).

The Balanced ECC83S is located in V2 farthest from the input jack.

These amps are adjustable bias. If you use the HK shunt method all that's necessary is a Multimeter. A more accurate and far easier method is to use one of our 9 pin bias probes with a Multimeter, or our all-in-one 9 pin "Pro One" bias probe (which reads plate voltage and plate current simultaneously). These are available under the "Related Products" tab.

EL84's should bias up to between 21 to 25 mA per tube.
The JJ EL844's are a 9 watt tube and should bias up to between 15 to 20 mA per tube.

You can use our Generic Bias Video for reference.

The video below explains the difference between bias probe types.
