Product Details

Need a good Fender clean but you also want more gain in the drive channel? This kit is for either the Fender Pro Tube Pro Reverb or Pro Tube Concert Amp. This kit contains a matched pair or the JJ 6L6GC's for a full warm tone along with one standard ECC81 to replace the 12AT7, three handpicked high gain ECC83S's for V1, V2 and V3, three standard ECC83S's and one balanced ECC83S for the phase inverter in V4. A warm clean channel and a drive channel with an attitude!

Tube location info: The Balanced ECC83S is located in V4 and the standard ECC81 is located in V7. The three high gain ECC83S's are located in V1, V2 and V3.

All Combo amp Retube Kits are shipped with the Eurotubes Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms.

All you need to adjust the bias on a Pro Tube Pro Reverb or Pro Tube Concert amp is a multimeter. These are available in the "Related Products" tab.

Below are the bias instructions from the manual.

OUTPUT TUBE BIAS & BALANCE ADJUSTMENTS.

1. Warm up the Pro-Tube amp for 2 minutes with STAND

BY switch DOWN and OUTPUT POWER set to FULL.

Set SPEED and INTENSITY to "1" and toggle TREMOLO

OFF. Put the STAND BY switch in the UP position.

2. Remove the bias controls cover box.

3. Set BIAS: With a DC voltmeter measure VDC between

"GND” and "V9” test points while adjusting BIAS for .03

VDC (30mVDC).

4. Set BALANCE: Measure the VDC between the "V9” and

"V11” test points while adjusting BALANCE for zero

(0) VDC.

5. Replace the bias controls cover box.
