Want maximum gain?? This is the High Gain Option Retube Kit for the Peavey XXX 40 Combo Amp. The preamp section uses four handpicked High Gain ECC83S's with one balanced for the phase inverter in V4. The default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ 6L6GC's but you can configure this kit to use the JJ 5881's, EL34II's, EL34’s, KT77’s, Big Bottle 6CA7’s by clicking on the "Customize" button!
The Balanced High Gain ECC83S is located in V4 closest to the power tubes.

If you choose to use the JJ 6L6GC's then we will ship your kit with the special Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge which will greatly reduce any tube rattle. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms. For all other tubes such as EL34II’s, EL34’s, KT77's and 6CA7's, we recommend using our EuroDamper rings and these will greatly decrease tube rattle. 

These amps are switchable from EL34 to 6L6 but they are fixed bias with no adjustment.
