Want a very rich and smooth tone with less grit? This is the Gold Pin Option Retube Kit for the Kustom Defender V50. The preamp section uses four Gold Pin ECC83S's with one balanced for the phase inverter in V4. The default power tubes are the JJ Electronic E34L’s but you can configure this kit to use the JJ EL34II's, EL34’s, KT77’s or Big Bottle 6CA7’s by clicking on the "Customize" button.

The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located closest to the power tubes in V4.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the two power tubes. These are available in the "Related Products” tab as a set of two and these will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These amps are advertised as using a hybrid bias system that compensates slightly for bias. This a little bit of doublespeak, the bottom line is they are adjustable bias amps with an internal trim pot and should be biased any time the power tubes are changed. All you need to check and adjust the bias is a bias probe and a Multimeter, or our all-in-one Eurotubes "Pro One" bias probe that reads both the plate current and the plate voltage simultaneously. You can find all these under the Related Products Tab.
