Want a very rich and smooth tone with less grit? This is the Gold Pin Option Retube Kit for the Hughes & Kettner Duotone 50 watt Combo. The preamp section uses five Gold Pin ECC83S's with one balanced for the phase inverter in V5. The default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ Electronic E34L’s but you can configure this kit to use the JJ EL34II's, EL34’s, KT77’s, Big Bottle 6CA7’s by clicking on the "Customize" button.

The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located farthest from the input jack in V5.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the two power tubes. These are available under the "Related Products” tab as a pair.

These amps are adjustable bias and all you need to check and adjust the bias is a Multimeter and a bias probe, or our all-in-one octal "Pro One" bias probes (which reads plate voltage and plate current simultaneously).
