Fender 59 Bassman Reissue for Harp
Product Details

Years ago we did a lot of research for tubes that work well for harp players and unlike amps used for guitar a harp amp likes a phase inverter tube that is NOT balanced so this kit includes a matched pair of the JJ 6L6GC's, a GZ34 rectifier, a standard ECC81 for V1, a standard ECC83S for V2 and an ECC832 for V3. This gets you more volume before feedback, good headroom and accentuates the odd harmonics necessary for a great harp sound.

When ordering please leave a note in the comments box on the checkout page to let us know if you have the original 90's reissue or the new LTD because the 90's amps are fixed bias and need hotter power tubes.

Tube location info: The ECC832 is located in V3 closest to the power tubes and the ECC81 is located in V1.

All Combo amp Retube Kits are shipped with the Eurotubes Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms.

The first 59 reissue amps were fixed bias with no adjustment. The later reissue and LTD amps are adjustable bias and all you need to adjust the bias is a multimeter. These are are available in the "Related Products" tab.

You can use the HRD bias video for reference. We typically bias 59 Bassman's RI/LTD's between 70-90mV with the JJ 6L6GC's. The bias pot and test point are located inside the chassis.
