The EML 30A is part of Emission Labs original driver series of DHT’s which include the 12B, 20B/20AM, 30A, and the newly released RS242. Do you dream of building a DHT line stage or an all DHT power amp? If so, you’re looking in the right place.
The 30A has a voltage gain of 30x with an Rp of 6K2 at 25mA (400V B+). This makes it both an excellent output stage driver and a great medium impedance voltage amplifier. These characteristics combined with an extremely low distortion (0.1% at 60VRMS output) give the 30A an incredibly articulate, airy, fast, and accurate timbre. A very unrestrained sound.
The 30A is also a great candidate for a DHT linestage when mated to an 8:1 (or higher) output transformer with adequate primary inductance. This provides a voltage gain of aprx 3.75x with an output impedance of 100Ω.
For high quality line output transformers we recommend Intact Audio and Monolith Magnetics.
