The EML 20AM is a part of Emission Labs original driver series of DHT’s which include the 12B, 20B/20AM, 30A, and the newly released RS242. Do you dream dream of building a DHT line stage or an all DHT power amp? If so, you’re looking in the right place.
The 20AM is EML’s mesh plate version of their 20B. It has a voltage gain of 20x with an Rp of 3K8 at 30mA (350V B+). This makes it both an excellent output stage driver and a great medium impedance voltage amplifier.
**If you are substituting the 20AM in place of an existing 20B, please be sure to observe the reduced 11W plate rating of the 20AM compared to the 25W rating of the 20B. As always, if you have questions about your application and any EML tubes, we encourage you to contact us for technical support.
EML’s driver series of of DHT’s have an incredibly articulate, airy, fast, and accurate timbre, giving them a very natural and unrestrained overall sound.
The 20AM in functionally comparable to a single section 6SN7, and at higher currents (25mA) is our favorite tube for a DHT linestage when mated with a 4:1 or 8:1 output transformer.
The EML mesh-plate series in general have quickly become a house favorite at ET.
All Emission Labs tubes are inspected and tested in-house before shipment. All EML tubes are shipped in factory packaging, with factory test results, as well as our in-house test results.
