E88CC Gold Pin

The Gold Pin JJ E88CC is based on the same construction as the original E88CC. The internal components go through additional selection and processing during assembly. After working with these tubes for several years we can confirm they do test more consistently and sound noticeably different than the standard JJ E88CC. Overall they’re very open and lush sounding with a wider frequency response. They also have a smoother transition from clean to clipped.

The JJ E88CC uses the classic European style plate structure found in most historic European variations. This design is incredibly stable and quiet. The JJ performs true to spec with a consistently low noise floor and a very even frequency response. These tubes have great depth and a muscular response.

Suitable for all E88CC, ECC88, 6DJ8 and 6922 applications.

For most standard driver/input applications our standard selection is suitable. For stereo or parallel driver applications refer to our matched triode and current balanced selections.

All our preamp tubes are stringently tested for noise and microphonics using Amplitrex testers driving an external amp. There is no extra charge for low noise and microphonics testing like with other tube vendors. If a tube does not pass our strict performance criteria it’s tossed or sent back to JJ Electronic for evaluation.
