Product Details
Looking for warmth and definition? This is the Standard Retube Kit for the Bugera 6262 and 6262I Heads and Combo Amps. The preamp section uses six ECC83S's with one balanced for the phase inverter in V6. The default power tubes a matched quad of the JJ Electronic 6L6GC’s but you can configure this kit to use the JJ 5881's EL34II's, E34L's, EL34’s, KT77’s or Big Bottle 6CA7’s by clicking on the "Customize" button.
The Balanced ECC83S is located in V6 farthest from the input jack.

A note about "V" numbers. Bugera decided to use random valve numbers just like Peavey did so the V numbers that are listed on the schematic starting from the first position which is closest to the input jack starts with V5, then V6 etc. The small minority of players who venture into reading the schematics have discovered this and ask why? Good question... They also ask why we refer to the tubes as V1 thru V6 starting with the preamp tube closest to the input jack. The Answer? It's MUCH easier and less time consuming to explain this to a very small number of players than to explain to hundreds if not thousands of players that you count backwards... So we refer to the V numbers as V1 thru V6!

If your amp is the combo version and you have chosen to use the JJ 6L6GC's then please let us know in the comments section and we will ship your kit with the special Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge which will greatly reduce any tube rattle. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms. For all other tubes such as EL34’s, KT77's and 6CA7's, we recommend using our EuroDamper rings. These are available under the "Related Products" tab and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

There are two versions of this amp, if your amp is the "Infinium" model them it is self biasing and will set whatever tubes are installed right at 30mA per tube. This is a little on the cold side but sounds OK.

The non-Infinium amps are adjustable bias amps but unfortunately Bugera chose to copy Peavey's bias scheme. The bias test points on these amps measure the negative bias voltage in the circuit and not the actual plate current. So the best and most accurate way to bias these amps is with a bias probe. Using the test points is a bit of a guess but it will usually get you on the outskirts of the ballpark. Please refer to the "Test Point Bias Video" which shows and describes this issue.

The cool thing about these amps is that you can use either our "Pro One" All-in-one bias probes or one of our 25.00 bias probes and a Multimeter to bias the amp without removing the amp from the cab. The probe will fit under one of the tubes while it’s in the cab so biasing is literally a 5 minute job.

EL34's, E34L's, KT77's, 6CA7's and 6L6GC's should all be biased between 35mA to 40mA. You can use the bias video we did on a PV JSX for reference.

The video below explains the difference between bias probe types.
