Want the vintage Tweed tone and the smooth rich Gold Pin tone? This kit includes a matched pair of JJ EL84's, a Gold pin JJ 12AY7 for V1, a standard Gold Pin ECC83S for V2 and a balanced Gold Pin ECC83S for the phase inverter in V3. The Gold Pin tubes are a little richer and smother sounding.

Just let us know in the comments section if you’re looking for max headroom, moderate or an early breakup so we can select a proper grade for the power tubes.

The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located closest to the power tubes and the Gold Pin 12AY7 is located in V1.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. A cooler grade of EL84’s will give you more clean headroom, whereas a warmer grade will give you earlier breakup. If you order online, leave us a note in the comments section letting us know your headroom preference (max headroom, middle of the road or early breakup).
