Jay Haygood

Bio

As of Spring 2012, I’ve been a working musician for over 25 years~ Wow, a quarter century! From the early 80’s into the 90’s, I cut my teeth on the hard rock circuit in Austin, Texas. In case you are not aware, the Austin music scene was and is rooted in the Blues, and this profound influence naturally shines through in my playing style, or so I’ve been told. Lots of showcase gigs, recording, and touring with bands Gypsy Rogue, Kid Stuff, Carousel, and Freak House, to name a few. I also had the pleasure of shared billing with several National touring acts of the day, some of which featured my guitar idols.

By Summer ’97 it was time for a change, which brought me to the Pacific Northwest. For the next several years I did tribute bands~ MANY tribute bands! This was tons of fun, not only due to big shows and bigger audiences, but also copping the licks of guitar legends, some of which I tip the hat to in the following section. More gigs, more touring, lots of theaters, sheds and casinos. I also joined veteran Portland rockers Stark Raving Mad for a brief stint, and did a movie and several promo gigs for talk radio personality Rick Emerson.

In more recent years my focus turned back to a creative outlet for original music, and this is still going strong in One Moment. Our style shifts from eclectic, moody, acoustic and dynamic, to poppy, trippy, psychedelic and raunchy. You can check out our material and get updates at: www.onemomentonline.com

My latest gig is a back-to-the-bars, straight up classic rock band we call Hook’D. If you’re in the area, and up for a great show with all the party tunes from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and beyond, check the link for our schedule.

When I’m not busy making music and tinkering with gear, I also enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, camping, and cycling.

Since I joined the Eurotubes team in early 2006, I’m very happy and proud to promote, sell and support a product line that I personally believe in and use every day.

EFFECTS: I have an ongoing love/hate relationship with pedals and rackmount gear, but suffice to say I’ve used both to the extreme. Feel free to shoot me an email for technical questions or other info.
