Bob,
Thank you for answering my questions and narrowing down my choices of re-tube
kits for my style.
The Blues #1 arrived two days after ordering them and having compared them back

by how much better it sounds in every way. They were exactly what I was after.
Thanks again!,

all JJ's there wouldn't be much change. How wrong I was! I think you're on to
something with this tube matching! LOL

Hi there, a great salute from Spain where you'll find good wine, lots of party

I've ordered a full retube kit for a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL High Gain option a

I'm very satisfied with it's new sound, just wanted to write feedback and thank

I'm linking my "tube" friends to your site as well, specially recommending

Bob,
Thanks for all the help. Rebiased the BDRI with the JJ 6v6S over the weekend
[set it at 40mV].
I was completely Underwhelmed with the amp after I bought it. The Sovetk [GT]
6l6 were sterile but punchy especially at lower volumes which is where I usually
had to use it [Home and small venues] and
the "drive" channel was uninspiring.
Now well, WOW!!!! what a transformation.
Clean at about 7 with the guitar [strat w/fralin's] dialed back a bit is sweet
and round, crank the guitar in the clean channel and just the right amount of
edge. Switch to the drive channel and the OD is much
more natural and pleasing. With a Les Paul.... well I think there are laws
against that sound in every state but maybe Nevada.
The amp is running 430vdc at the plates so I'm hoping to get good life out of
the tubes but even if I have to replace them more often well worth it.
Thanks again

Bob,
I ended up ordering the tube kit for my Palomino V16 last Thursday. They arrived
here in Michigan in great shape Monday. Very fast. I believe I talked to Jay on
the phone? Anyway I just want to say thanks
for answering my questions via email and also Jay was very helpful over the
phone. I had many questions as this was my first tube change and he answered
them all. You were right about the tube rattle. In fact I bought a 1x12 cabinet
on Sunday and the rattle was gone. I almost regretted ordering the tubes until I
installed them Monday. The highs were very harsh and at times made me cringe
while playing with the
stock Groove Tubes which I thought were supposed to be great tubes. However the
JJ's tubes make the amp sound great. I am finally happy with my set up. Thanks
again and I will definately order from you
again.
Nice tubes!

I recently bought a Peavey Windsor studio based on the features and reviews an

the tone was being suppressed. My amp sounded like a blanket had been thrown

set of original British Mullards in my Traynor Reverb Master and the JJs sound
better! (This after I had replaced the Mullards
with some EH 12AX7s, which definitely did NOT sound better) I cannot believe the
difference these tubes made in my amp. They sound every bit as good as my 60s

Subject: WOW!
I have a Fender HRD that I bought used - it came with a mix of Marshall pretubes
and Ruby powertubes. This amps clean channel was alright, but unremarkable and
the dirty channel was too muddy even for a grunge guitarist. I bought a JJ blues
retube set from you - got it like two days later - this in itself is remarkable.
Just for shits and giggles (I was a bit doubtful) I decided to put just the
pretubes in the amp
just to see if there would be any kind of noteable difference. Wow - the
difference was striking with just the first strum. Then I switch to the dirty
channel - beautiful - now it's very pleasant and usable. Then I
changed the powertubes and biased them to 80mV and the little amp that I totally
underestimated has me smiling like I ate the canary. Your 'How To Bias' video is
awesome - very easy to follow.

Saturday, March 29, 2008 11:07 PM To: eurotubes@cnnw.net I ordered the Eurotubes re-tube kit that consists of: one standard JJ ECC83S
preamp tube for the V1 position, one hand-picked high-gain JJ ECC83S preamp tube
for the V2 position, and one balanced JJ ECC83S preamp tube for the V3 position
(phase inverter). I also took out the stock Fender/Groove Tubes 6L6 power tubes
and put in a matched pair of JJ 6V6S power tubes. I simply can't believe how
much better the amp sounds! The clean channel is still clean and very lovely.
But now it has a warmer quality to it. And thanks to the 6V6S power tubes in
there, the clean channel has this very nice sweet spot where it will break up
beautifully with a nice mid-frequency crunch that wasn't there before. Now for
the drive channel... Yeah--the drive channel sounds incredible. It's got the
greatest, thickest, warmest overdrive that I've heard in any amp--better than
any pedal I've heard too. And when I kick in the more-drive, it just thickens up
even more and gets hotter! It's not that bright and shrill sound that was heard
before.
It's just amazing. I mean, dang! If Fender made the HRDs stock like this
(with these JJ tubes in there instead of the crappy Fender/Groove Tubes valves),
they'd be selling them like crazy! From what I understand, the 6V6S power tubes
cause the wattage to lower a tad (to around 30 watts, as opposed to 40), but who
cares? That just means that I get that nice, fat sound a little earlier on the
volume knob! Wow--I don't want to keep rambling on, but I am simply awe-struck
by the sounds that are coming from my amp. My hat goes off to you guys at
Eurotubes! Thank you so much for answering all of my emails, answering all of my
questions over the phone, and getting me set up with the exact set of tubes I
needed to get the sound I was looking for. I really appreciate it and I will
continue buying my tubes from you guys--I'm a customer for life.
Subject: Very Pleased Customer
Holy crap! I've just finished putting in the new tubes that you guys sent me and
re-biasing my amp, and I can't say I've ever been more pleased with the sounds
coming out of my amp--or any amp I've played, for that matter! I own a brand new
Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (bought it a couple weeks ago from my local Guitar
Center). I have to say I've loved the tone of those amps for a long time. I used
to own a Crate
Palomino V32 combo, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for in an amp. (I've
not been the biggest fan of Crate, but the amp sounded alright.) So I sold it,
finally got a hold of the Deluxe, and I've loved playing it--or at least I
thought I did.
Once again--thanks! And yes, post my email on your user reviews page if you'd
like. I want all the other HRD users out there to know who to go to for the tone
they're looking for.

Friday, March 28, 2008 5:13 PM To: eurotubes@cnnw.net The problem, my rec (brand new 3 ch.) sounds thin and buzzy, low end is to
loose and not enough, not "punchy" enough, gain is buzzy and to over the top on
rhythm and not enough for lead. I love the features, quality, low noise floor, and
basic tone, but it just sounded flat. I play high quality guitars(les paul w/emg's,
usa PRS SC250,wolfgang)and tried many cabinets to no avail.
CALL THESE GUYS. You wont believe the difference. Someone once told me
quality amps are like fine suits. Buy the best you can afford then get it
fitted. I wasn't sure about that till now. The difference is unreal. This amp
rips. I play mostly metal through this amp but the clean tones beat my fenders
HRD and twin. So full and punchy. I went w KT88 and KT66 output tubes, GZ34 rec
tubes and JJ gold pin ECC83s fof V1,V2,V3 and a JJ ECC83s for 4, and a matched
phase splitter. They laid it all out for me and gave me all kinds of options.
This isn't like mixing and matching, which can get very frustrating. These guys
are the real deal. End result, low end is strong but not detached, mids shake
the floors and my pants, high are smooth and liquid and very balanced. I truly
cant believe the tone. I've ben playing for 18 years since 15. I've had so many
amps and tried different tubes in most of them. I dont play out much any more, I
play mostly at home. This mod improved the low volume tone so much I really cant
believe mesa or any high end co. doesn't offer optional kits. But turn it up. O
MY. All modes of all channels are just better. It doesn't take a tone snob to
notice the difference. It is immediate, unbelievable, and I think it made it
move.
You guys saved me a thousand dollars on a trade. Thank you.

Subject: Got my tubes yesterday...
I got my tubes and installed them into my Mesa/Boogie F-30 yesterday. That was
fast! Anyway, they are fantastic. Beyond fantastic. I had no idea such a simple
swap from the stock tubes to JJ tubes could make such a difference. It is way
beyond what I imagined. I bought the F-30 based on value, tone, and nostalgia.
You see, I fell in love with a Mesa/Boogie Studio 22 back in the 80's. I would
play through
that amp after my lessons back in high school until the owner of the music store
kicked me out. Back then, I could never afford one on my high school budget.
When I found the F series a few years ago when
amp shopping, it brought back those creamy tone filled memories. Mesa/Boogie
claims that the F series are direct descendants of the Studio and Mark IV amps.
I believe that in theory, but not in practice. It
seems to me that Mesa/Boogie just has to put a bit of that "Recto" tone in every
new amp they make. I can understand, they had a new defined tone that further
separated them from the Marshall and Soldano
crowd. Anyway, the stock F-30 is great, not a Studio 22, but still great.
However, it has this fizz that comes in right at the threshold of great tone. I
identify that fizz as the Recto sound. You want a bit more gain, but more gain
adds more fizz. Kill the fizz, now there is not enough gain. The JJ tubes fixed
that problem for me and the amp is now much closer to my memories of that Studio
22 back in 1987. In short these are the differences I noticed with the High Gain
Retube kit for the Mesa/Boogie F-30:
1. Much less amp hiss
2. Darker. Rounder, Warmer tone (took 3 minutes to readjust the EQ
and all was good)
3. Harmonics are fantastic
4. More gain with better clarity and note separation
5. FX sound better - a side effect of clarity I'm sure
6. The clean channel is now stunning. I never used it before, now
it is fantastic
As you can see, I'm thrilled I decided to retube my amp with JJ tubes and you
can look forward to me ordering a 2nd set of tubes for backup purposes. You have
a customer for life. Thanks again.

First of all, thank you for the very fast service & the good advice. I do
believe eurotubes.com is the main source for tubes on the web. The first time i
got to this website i felt happy there is someone in this world doing this for
the people who want to know more about the wonderful world of tubes.
Im a 5150 freak, ive been playing this amps for years.. first i had a 5150 combo
& now i have the 6505 top. Is the best simple amp for rock guitar players in
this world, the only thing you need are: to be able to play guitar & some
killers tubes on it ;-)
The last one (having good tubes on it) is when i trust eurotubes.com, i wanted
something new for my peavey 6505, i wanted the sound to be the original sound
but better ;-) after letting Bob listen to my music & having a good tube
conversation Bob told me to go for the KT88-6L6GC-High gain Option, i was
skeptical & even some friends told me this was impossible, since kt88 where
never tested on 5150.. i ordered them.. since i had good experience with
eurotubes.com
I installed this following the instruction & i have created a monster. My peavey
6505 sounds amazing.. it kills !!
The something lacking, some people think about the 5150 is gone forever !! this
amp can do thinks you can imagine. Warm ! rich in harmonics & thunder lows...
man ! i wish i had this tube on it when recording last year !!
thanks Bob & jay
please dont advice too many people to use this set !! i want this to be my

Hey Bob,
Got the tubes and installed them last weekend. They sound amazing. Like many
other reviews I’ve read, it “woke up” the amp considerably with minimal
tweaking. There is much more separation in the notes
and everything sounds much more crisp and clean. Thanks for the great tubes.
They really unlocked the potential that my Triaxis has been hiding all these
years.

Just wanted to drop you a line and thank you for your recommendations for tubes
and a speaker upgrade for my Classic 30. The information on your website was
instrumental in my choices as were your
thoughts when I spoke to you on the phone. My amp has taken on a more refined
character. The lows are very full and "punchy" without being overpowering or
muddy. The mids are just where I like them and the highs are quite present and
detailed but not "stealing the show". Even my wife has noticed how the amp is no
longer "brash" or piercing. I can play (around the house) louder for longer and
nobody gets
annoyed!!! My G&L Legacy sounds like I always thought it should and for that I
can't thank you enough. You have certainly earned my repeat business.

Bob
Just wanted drop you a quick note of thanks for the great tubes, service and
advice! When I received my tube shipment, I immediately scheduled some time with
my local amp guru for biasing as you suggested. In 35+ years of playing, most of
them professionally, playing various brands of tube amplifiers over the years
and tons of tube changes, I must shamefully admit I had never considered getting
any of my amps biased. Heck, they all sounded good after tube changes anyway,
right? After reading some of your posts about the benefits of biasing on a few
internet forums, I was curious but admittedly too lazy to drag an amp across
town to the shop. But heeding your advice with this last tube purchase, I had my
Rivera Quiana biased when I changed the pre-amp and power tubes. The Quiana is
already a great sounding amp so I was not sure what to expect. After I picked
the amp up, I went right f rom the amp shop to a rehearsal, fired it up but let
it sit for a few minutes before plugging my Anderson Drop Top in and spanking a
big open E chord. Wow! I was struck by the string balance, how the lower strings
were now fat without being "boomy". I kept hitting open chords and letting them
ring on. The guys thought I was nuts. Switching to channel 1(voiced more toward
Marshallness), the preamp distortion now had a singing "voice" and does not have
the raspiness it had before. Biasing made a great amp even better. Now, I wonder
what all those amps (aside from my Boogies) over the past years would have
sounded like with the right tubes and a bias job? Thanks again!!!

Hi Bob,
Just wanted to let you all know that the JJs sound great. The sound is smooth
and the tone is incredible. The cleans ring out in the rhythm modes, and along
with the lead channels I can cover all the material
that I'm playing from Skynyrd, Eagles, Leppelin, ACDC, Stevie Ray, Seether,
Foofighters, Metallica, etc. The pick harmonics sound awesome. The gain of the
LD 1 and 2 red modes are now very controllable, but the sustain and saturation
is still there. I was worried about loosing this with the standard 83s in V2,
V4, but it was the perfect choice. I love the gold pin 803S in V1 I think it
smooths everything out just enough, and I think the 81 in V3 help tame the gain
without neutering the amp. The matched and balanced 83S and the 6L6 in the 2:90
really has given my sound more punch and everything just sounds warmer.
Also, your shipping was excellent it only took a couple of days for the tubes to
arrive in Atlanta.
Thanks again,

On your recommendation I went with GZ34s, 6L6s and the high gain "shred" style

The result was awesome. I get guys drooling over my tone that play the same amp.
I even had a friend of mine that is playing through two Bogner Ecstacy classics

what to try a different tube option. After talking with your tech help I decided
to go with the JJ KT77 gold option and all I can say is Good God ! what a
difference. This has given my 900 a nice vintage and rich sound I never had
before. In the past on the high gain channel you would basically get a very
tinny sometimes harsh distortion sound which is great if your into speed metal.
But now I get a rich Marshall Growl and the clean channel the tone is
incredible. These new tubes have really given a nice real full tone especially
in mid and bottom range and the highs are a nice crystal clear sound. My only
regret is I have owned this amp for about seven years now and wished I made this

To the awesome people at Eurotubes,
First and foremost I would like to thank you all for the extremely great
customer service, seriously I ordered the tubes on Monday and they arrived here
on Wednesday – woah! Let me move on to the tubes. Anyway, I had read good things
about both JJ’s and Eurotubes. So, I ordered the standard retube for my blues
junior, which was needed. And I do not regret it at all. Not only was the price
cheaper than if I had gone with groves/sovteks, but the quality and tone was
immensely better, as well as the convenience of all the tubes being matched and
together in one package. After I had put the tubes in, I tried them out. First I
went straight in with my strat with the amp dialed to clean, but unlike before
the blues jr actually sounded like a fender. Before it had a good clean sound,
but it wasn’t the fender clean- the clean you buy a fender for. Now it was. The
highs were more present without being brittle, the lows were tighter, less fuzzy
and farty, and the tone was lusher without losing the brightness. Essentially it
was sounding close to deluxe or twin reverb (close not dead on). I was happy. So
next I went on to the SG, this time I dialed it to overdrive, again it was
better. I was able to nail, even better, the Clapton w/ blues breakers tone, it
was like a mix of an overdriven super reverb (Derek Trucks) and a marshall. To
sum up, I would like to greatly thank you guys for your awesome work ethic and
awesome product. Now I’m going to have to do something about epi valve head jr.
– tubes are good.

Bob,
Just a quick followup to say,"you rock!"
My Rivera Quiana sounds phenomanal after having it re-tubed with your
recommended JJ's and bias set at 38mA. There's a rich & warm crunch...and no
more unwanted snap, crackle, pop & hiss. The amp runs super-quiet now, and I get
much better response when adjusting EQ, Focus and Presence controls. My
humbuckers sound great as always, and I really noticed an improvement with the
single coils in my Tele.
Here's the way I see it: As musicians and tone geeks, we pay good money for our
equipment. So, why not spend a few dollars to make it sound the very best.
Similar to a nice guitar, which sounds pretty good with the same old strings.
But regular string changes make it sound even fuller, richer...snappier.
The amp was fun before, but NOW she really sings. I'll be ordering more shortly
to have a full backup set. Thanks for the easy ordering and super-fast shipping.
Keep up the great work.

Subject: Thank you!!!
Bob,
First off, Thank you for your suggestion to go with the matched 6L6’s and High
Gain rated 12AX7’s. It was spot on! My Peavey Valve King sounded very good
before, but now it sounds a hundred times better. I’ll put it this way; my
Peavey had a body and some curves and now with the JJ Tubes it has a soul.
Everything is louder, crisper, deeper and overall more pronounced. These tubes
accomplished
the equivalent of adding a equalizer and compression/sustainer pedals. Even when
the volume is set at “1” there is a distinct difference. Basically, with this
set up, it sounds like it should and a whole lot more!
Here are some other observations regarding the Peavey Valve King 212. To replace
the tubes you will need to remove the amp from the cabinet. If you do not you
WILL break something or strip a screw.
The top mounting screws located on both sides of the
carrying handle need to be removed, along with the four screws in the back. It
will also help if you remove the metal bracket (that has the Peavey logo) off of
the front. Once this is complete you have full access of the tubes and mounting
brackets. As you recommend, I strongly recommend cleaning each tube socket. My
amp was brand new and had debris within and around the sockets. Once the
amp/electronics section of the amp is exposed it is very easy to change the
tubes out. Also, here is something of interest. These are the tubes that my amp
came with; 4-Ruby 6L6’s, 2-preamp 12AX7 Electro Harmonix and 1-preamp 12AX7 JJ
tube. So Peavey is putting JJ tubes in their amps. How many is anyone’s guess.
This isn’t a bad set up, but compared to the JJ’s…There is NO comparison.
In conclusion, EUROTUBES will be my primary source for tubes. Nowhere else can
one gain so much knowledge regarding amp maintenance, biasing, reviews and
general knowledge on tubes and their characteristics. You get one on one
customer support with sound advice and the best price on quality tubes. As far
as I’m concerned JJ Tubes are now the industry standard. I literally have zero
complaints and nothing but praise for JJ Tubes and EUROTUBES. Thank you for
providing outstanding customer service and an outstanding product. This is the
way it should be. As long as I own a tube amp I will buy from EUROTUBES. Thanks
again and keep it up. (Please feel free to post this on your site)

I replaced the stock tubes in my Marshall DSL 201 looking to improve the amps

I was not quite ready for the transformation that took place in overall clarity,
dynamics, natural compression, and smooth even harmonic distortion. WOW ! The
amp really sings with that pure Marshall tone that I was missing. When I
finished re-tubing and changing the speaker it was about 1:00 a.m. and people
were asleep, but even at low volumes, I could tell something magical had taken
place. The next day, when I was able to crank it up, I experienced sheer singing
sustain and magnificent clarity from what was a muddy sounding amp less than
twelve hours before. I promptly called my bass player and informed him … I am
now ready to rule the world !
Thanks to your videos I was even able to bias the amp myself and dial it in
exactly where I wanted it to be.
The Weber Silver Bell that you suggested was just the ticket to compliment the
tubes. Great call !
This is without a doubt the best money that I ever spent to improve my sound.

Gorgeous tone, man!
I should have listened to you a couple months ago. There is no comparison
between your tubes and the Sovtek Mesa Boogie brand tubes. Now that I've heard
your ECC83S in my V-Twin, the Mesa Boogie
Sovteks sound tinny and are almost unusable. Boy what a difference...your tubes
are warm and musical. I should have saved my money and went ahead with yours
when I retubed my 50:50 last month like you recommended.
Don't get me wrong, my rig sounded good with tubes in just my 50:50 power amp
and I was still getting lots of compliments on my tone, but purchasing those
Mesa brand sovteks for my preamp was a waste of money and time because it cost
me that extra edge that your ECC83S tubes would have given my preamp. That's why
I came back so soon (I could tell something wasn't quite right). It was like an
itch I couldn't scratch. Those Mesa tubes still have a year on them at least

I just bought this Traynor YCV50 Blue on a whim. I came home to it sitting on my
porch. So, I opened and played it for a while and though it sounded okay, it
lacked any real feel to it. It sounded muddy when pushed and kind of cardboard-ish
and thin. I happened to look in my mailbox and there she was as I had hoped for,
the little jewels that would be my savior! (A standard retube with KT77's)
Although a little skeptical at first I installed them and fired it up. At first
it wasn't over the top but, the cardboard was gone! After playing for an hour or
so the tubes started to open up like a blossoming flower! And there it is! This
was a different amp then what I started with. Every amp wtih those sh''ty

Or for any occasion. It'll have you playing deck the halls in no time! Now, I
can't wait for my Mesa Lonestar upgrade! Merry x-mas,happy

Hi Bob,
About 2 hours ago I finished doing the complete retube and bias adjustment on my
Dr. Z. Route 66 head with the tubes you said to order.
Good Golly Miss Molly...oooohhhhhhhh!
It took me 2 hours to reply from the sheer joy of the tones and playing for that
long. I love my Peter Florence '59 Voodoo humbuckers, I love my guitar, I'm
thankful for my fingers, and all those that came before me to lead the way, I
love this Dr. Z amp and am glad Mike decided to begin building amps by hand in
small batches...and now the final piece to the puzzle! These great JJ tubes. I
love 'em Bob. I just love 'em.
Thanks as always for your patience and advice. No one else I've dealt with
online, or for that matter in face to face dealings in brick and mortar stores
has taken the care and time that you have. I learned how to bias properly
because of you. I learned what tubes are the best and provide the best tone for
me because of you. I also learned to spray my tube pins with electronic contact
cleaner, and a bunch of invaluable other stuff from you. Thanks so much. You've
always been there. You're company and tubes are top-notch. Guitar players and
tube amp fans everywhere should be thankful for you and your company, and for
the direct relationship you have with JJ Electronics over in the Slovak Republic
(half my ancestry is from Eastern Europe by the way.)
In a week or so I'll order a backup pair of KT-66's to have on hand, or I may
just go ahead and order a complete backup set of tubes for my Route 66
head...better to be prepared than have down time.
Thanks again.
I'll be back...

Hi Bob!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I received my JJ's today, a full re-tube of high gain, matched and balanced
tubes for my Marshall TSL602 combo. I just couldn't wait to clean the tube
sockets, get the new 'glass' in and re-bias. Tried to lower my expectations
whilst I got to work installing them. Boy howdy!!!! Does my amp rock now!!! Holy
sheeeeeeet!!
All notes are very clear and articulate and the harmonics just jump out when you
want them to. I can't get over the fact I'm actually 'using' the tone controls
for a change instead of just cranking everything
to '11' just to compensate for the less than satisfactory stock tubes they put
in this thing. The biggest thing I noticed though is that I'm also turning down
the gain in the crunch channel as well as the lead channel.
Everything is much more punchier and responsive and I dont need the gain flat
out any more, nor do I need to put a overdrive pedal in front of the amp like I
did before. Clean channel has, well, cleaned up beautifully and everything is
nice and compressed and full. I cannot thank you enough for your time and
advice. Your personalised service and A1 communication is exemplary (thanks to
Jay also) and I have absolutely no hesitation recommending Eurotubes to my
fellow musicians.
Thanks again to all at Eurotubes.

Bob,
Hello, this is Ron Wesley, I stopped by yesterday morning and bought a quad of
E34L's for my '76 Marshall Super Bass. I just wanted to let you know that I'm
very pleased with the tone and performance I getting from my amp with the JJ
tubes installed. The tubes biased up to 70% very easily and I instantly noticed
a bigger, more 3-D sound stage with more depth in the lows, fatter and more
complex mids, and a singing top end that's clear but not brittle. The balanced
ECC83S that I put in the phase inverter helped also, the amp really sings now.
Last night at rehearsal all the guys in my band noticed a difference, even the
drummer. I want to put a set of JJ's in my old '68 50 watt Marshall also, plus I
have a couple more amps that could use some great tubes. Thank you for your
help, my Marshall really ROCKS now!

All I can say is, "Holy ****". These tubes are absolutely amazing. I was using

Thank you so much for providing such a high quality product. I know that the

are even better than you say they are. I did not have a chance to re-bias yet
because I had to throw them in and go last night but they already sound GREAT!
This amp with the high-gain ECC83S's just sings. The clean channel is a bit
warmer now but really seems to have the versatility to go any way I want it to.
It's got some teeth when it's cranked a bit, but I dialed the bass up last night
and played through a neck position Gold Lace Sensor on a strat-ultra/plus and I
was amazed with the smoothness and articulation. The gain channel is AWESOME
now. I compared it to my buddy's new Mesa combo. The Ampeg is so much more
buttery than those types of amps, yet can just about keep up gain wise with the
new tubes. I'm really impressed. The tubes were perfectly matched and the price
is right.
Blessings on you guys,

Not only is your service the BEST!! , your descriptions of the tubes sounds,
have been very accurate.
I have purchased long plate pre amp tubes for my old Carvin x100, they are
great. Your suggestion to buy a Weber attenuator was an excellent suggestion, I
purchased a mass lite, it did the job.
I purchased some preamp tubes for a Randall rg50, I later had the amp modified
to get rid of all the kid distortion. I still would like to unload the Randall,
it doesn't have a lot of definition, I might try those two pre amp tubes I
recently purchased for my HRD Fender.
This latest tube purchase the ECC81 and the ECC832 took all the annoying high
and mid doinkiness out of the HRD Fender I own.
To date I have purchased all my tubes from you folks.
I really want to thank you especially for the excellent customer service you

helped me find the sounds I love and the sounds I want to emulate.

The clean is much more musical, and I can even get a great breakup on the clean

processed, different animal. Very sweet - thanks so much for saving my amp.

HI Bob. I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the JJ tubes I've
got installed in my Marshall DSL50. I've done some upgrades to the amP:
- upgraded the OT to a Mercury Magnetics built to Voodoo
amp specs ( a vintage version)
- changed a few capacitor values to improve the high gain (red) channel
- added a choke, also Mercury Magnetics
With the
upgrades, the amp has really developed a nice blossom that has all that depth of
a Marshall. I just went through some tests changing the preamp (V1 and V2) tubes
and the power tubes to several different ones I've collected over time. With the
amp electronics set up where I want them the JJs, both power and
preamp, are the best sounding. In all the combinations I used, the full set of
JJs are what provides the best sound overall. Nice sparkly highs and deep, solid
lows. The overdrive is tight and deep. The clean is sparkly, but not brittle.
Both seem very three dimensional.
Just thought you'd like to know.
Jerry.

Hey Bob,
Just letting you the new tubes sound fantastic. I always wait to review new
purchases until I have rehearsed at home, rehearsed with band, and actually
gigged with them. Anyway, as usual the JJ's did not disappoint. That balanced
triode really makes a difference in my Budda Series One SuperDrive30. Budda
still insists that Groove Tubes are the "OEM" tubes, but this set sounds ten
times better at half the cost. I am playing a Carvin Holdsworth HF-2 "fatboy"
semi-hollowbody with fat humbuckers and the tone just oozes from this
combination. Conservatively rated at 30W this amp cut through the band without
sounding harsh and with a minimum of help from the PA system. What I especially
like is how versatile this rig is with these tubes - I play modern rock with my
band, but I study jazz and its nice to be able to use the same amp for all
styles. Buddas are known for their intense overdrive, but I just love the clean
sounds it gets with these tubes. I received numerous unsolicited compliments
after the last gig with my band. What I really liked was how much more
controllable my feedback-tones are now.
Unfortunately for you guys, these tubes are so reliable and long-lasting that I
probably won't need to see you for a few years, but you can bet when I need new

Bob,
Thanks for your help. I got my XXX 6L6 hi-gain kit today and swapped out the old
tubes.
These tubes rock. It really improved the sound of every channel. First, the
clean channel really cleaned up. It was fine before, but didn't have much spank
or sparkle. I'd say replacing the tubes Fenderized the cleans quite a bit, which
is funny, given that the tubes I yanked were Fender-labeled Sovteks.
The 2 distortion channels really opened up. Is there more distortion? Yes. But
the interesting thing is that now the entire range of gain is usable. At very
low gain settings, it's grittier than it was before the swap. But these low
settings work really well now and sound really great. Before switching the
tubes, the gain channels sounded kind of mediocre with the gain lower than 10
o'clock. But now it's like having 2 new tweed/blues/classic rock channels when I
keep the gain low. At the higher gain settings, there's more sustain than
before, but the nice thing is that the distortion is more articulate and spanky
all the way through the gain settings. You'd said that the hi-gain kit is great
for sweep-picking and the like, and you're right.
Cheers,
J.

gain Lead) today, pretty impressive shipping only 6 days to australia. I have to
say that the amp is now sounding friggen awesome!!!! The drive channel has more
bottom end and "BALLS" now and I am getting one of the sweetest brownish
sounding tones I've ever heard, my angus riffs sound like their just off the
record and I never thought I would be able to pull off master of puppets so
convincingly either with this amp. I don't think I will be needing to buy a
distortion pedal any more as there is plenty enough gain for me now, my eq will
boost enough for solos. The clean channel seems more sparkeley now too more
fendery, better sounding overall.
Thanx again your products are second to none and I will be returning whenever I
need new tubes.
Cheers

I recently bought my first tube amp: a 1976 Fender Twin Reverb. I was really
excited until I discovered that it had been refitted with Groove Tubes 6L6B's,
which I had recently learned were by no means the best tubes available (not to
mention really shrill-sounding). I bought a set of your JJ 6L6GC's and a bias
probe and I have to say the difference was amazing! Thanks so much for carrying
a great product and offering free instruction on how to bias amplifiers. I
emailed your store and one of your guys, Eddie, told me the sweet spot for the
Twin. You saved me a trip to the amp tech and my amp sounds better than ever.
Thanks again!

Subject: update on Traynor YCV80 standard tube kit
Hey guys…
I’ve had the new tubes installed in my YCV80 for about 2 weeks now. After
discussing various options over the phone, it was decided the best kit to use
was the standard kit for the YCV80. I have to say that I am VERY happy about the
results. Also, my band-mates immediately noticed an improvement in tone from the
amp after the re-tube. I had two main problems with my amp before the
retube…muddy low end and a harsh top end that was horrible when the gain was
cranked and boost on. After the retube, the gain is MUCH smoother, and sustain
seems to be a lot better. Its almost like my gain goes to “11” or “12” now.
Additionally, unlike before where the gain channel with the boost switch off was
pretty much useless, this setting now provides the most incredible classic rock
crunch that is very responsive to pick attack and guitar volume. The most
noticeable improvement, however, was on the clean channel…WOW!! The bass
response is fantastic…very defined and articulate. When the clean channel volume
is around 6-7, the tubes start to break up, and with the clean channel dimed the
tone I get from this amp is UNREAL. Paired with my Strat with Lollar Blondes
pickups and Callaham bridge, I now have vintage tone all the way. I spend more
time running through the clean channel, no effects, than I ever did before.
Thanks for the great customer service and excellent product. The packaging and
speed of shipping were equally impressive. You’ll be getting my business for
years to come.

Bob,
I have been playing my Crate VFX5112 (with extension cab) and my Crate VFX5212,
both with your JJ's tube recommendations for over a year now. At nearly every
gig, somebody comes up and asks me "what the heck kind of amp is that? I have
never heard an amp sound so good". Well, as you know, the JJ's you recommended
are the reason (not to mention the Celestion Century Neo speakers). The clean is
so perfect, better than a "Twin", I think. The overdrive is sweet and controlled
and the sustain is just forever.
I never miss a chance to tell everyone about Eurotubes and JJ's. By the way, if
you type in "best tubes for guitar amps" on the 'net, JJ's comes up 8 out of 10.
Hmmmm, I wonder why? Heck, I've got JJ's in all my tube overdrive pedals, too!
We are going down to Nashville to do some recording and I will be taking my
VFX5212 with me.
Take care and keep up the outstanding tube work.

Guys,
I Recently retubed my Traynor YCV50 with the KT77 option and WOW is all I can
say. I have always liked this amp, and I have been playing with the factory
tubes for about 2 years. But I was getting a bit of tube rattle and I wasn't
getting the same volume that I was used to.
Anyway I replaced the tubes and played it at home and really noticed it had a
lot more bottom end. It wasn't until I took it to practice that I really saw the
difference. Typically I play with the clean volume at about 6 and the master at
about 4. So I started with the master at about 3 and I nearly blew the place
apart! But more than the volume, the amp is so much more responsive and crisp,
and tons of bottom. I can't wait to use it on stage.
If I ever had a complaint about the amp it's that the gain channel sounded thin
unless the gain was cranked. Now I can crank the volume and use the gain to
adjust the loudness. I can set it so that it sounds like the clean channel with
just a little more volume & crunch, but hit the gain boost and .... holy sh*t!!!
Anyway, thanks again

Hi Bob:
Thanks for the quick response. It turned out to be a bad amp from Peavey.
Returned it to the Guitar Center and got another one. Put in the tubes and WOW
what a difference. JJ tubes are a GREAT product!!!!!! As I am new to tube amps,
I was completely blown away by what “good” tubes could do for an already good
amp. My Classic 50 just sings on the clean channel and the overdrive channel now
has a nicely defined clarity to it and much better distortion (bought the normal
clean/high gain option).
By the way, my son’s Valve Jr. head sounds fantastic after putting in the JJ
tubes you suggested. I don’t even have to bug him to practice anymore.

To everyone at Eurotubes:
I just wanted to give a little bit of feedback on my recent purchase.
I have an Epiphone Valve Junior Head that I installed a set of JJ’s into (ECC83S
& EL84). I have to say that I am very impressed with this amp now that the stock
Sovtek Tubes are no longer in it. It definitely sounds richer with more detail
across the whole frequency range of the amp. I was originally going to call in
and get recommendation as far as tubes for my little 5 Watt head, but there was
more than enough information on the web page for me to make my purchase and not
feel the slightest bit worried.
I live in NY (about an hour or so south of Syracuse) and these tubes were
delivered lightning fast. Placed the order very early Friday (1AM EST) Morning,
and when I checked the mail during lunch on Monday, there was a box from
Eurotubes sitting there. The set of tubes were packaged very well, with the box
busting at the seams with packing material.
I couldn’t be happier with my purchase from Eurotubes and with the JJ’s. When
it’s time to change the tubes in my other amps, I know where I’m going…
Thanks guys. Great company you have there…

Jay,
Tubes arrived and I am pleased beyond words. As an old tube head I have had two
Carvin X100b's, '86 and and '89 hot rod and a Marshall 4104. I bought the Fender
HRD White Lightning as it appeared to have all those things a tuber should have.
After a day the power tubes were already microphonic and my ear could not accept
the low note buzzing and the overdrive was lacking that essential element I was
seeking, buyer's remorse ensued.
My buddy turned me on to the Eurotube site and a bit of hope sprung. I installed the tubes and was immediately pleased after a few tonal adjustments. Last night I took advantage of Bob's bias video and re-biased from 61 to 89 and my little tube amp really started singing. The lead tone in the more drive channel now sounds like what I was hoping for when I bought the amp, long soulful sustain with complex controllable harmonics.
JJ's are fantastic tubes
and I suspect over the next week they will only get better. Thanks for turning
my remorse into delight. These little HRD's are not Marshall's or Carvins but
with the right tubes (JJ's,) biased right they produce an extremely satisfying
tone.

Blues Option #1 for my Deville and and a set of 6V6's and a couple ECC83's for

decide between new production and NOS and which new production etc... So I
decided to do my own taste test. I ordered the JJ's from you SED 6L6's, and TAD
6L6's. Yours were the first to arrive and I'm done. The Deville had the stock
Sovteks which are horrible. I replaced V1 and V2 with some Mullard ECC83's I had
laying around and that improved it a bit-a little smoother but the More Drive
channel was still pretty unuseable. So your tubes came today and I put them
(pulled out the Mullards). I cannot believe the difference. The drive is so much
smoother and creamier but the best part- that Bassman-like honk that these amps
have used to disappear when I used the drive channels but now it is there and
that's a big F^&%ing deal to me.
I doubted you. I was hesitant. I thought you were just another guy trying to
make a buck off of Eastern block crap but they're for real. Thanks.

you guys had stated that my drive channel will become so useful. I'm an old
blues player playing about 40 years or so and what i like about this amp is that
it is small and light to carry around to practice or gigs. Its a pretty big bang
for the buck also.but these jjs made a huge difference, on my first drive
channel i just run the gain at about
two and i just get the nicest blues tone ever.On the more gain channel for my
southern rock and country rock i can run the gain up and down and get a ton of
variations of tone!unreal!
Not only do i have real good head room and clean as can be but that little bugger is loud and seems to have alot more punch. My ash tele sounds real good but my texas specials on my strat are a great match for these tubes in this amp.
This amp went from a pretty good sounding amp to a great
amp, thanks again and i will be trying some of your other tube combos in
the future such as the 6v6s and 832 in v2 slot. For right now the Fender HRD full
retube kit is awsome.Eurotubes rule!

standards (V2-V3), and 1 ecc83 balanced and matched (V4). My low end is so deep
I had to turn my LOWS down. Its not as bright anymore. It is balanced perfectly.
I can't express my thanks enough. Jay, thanks so much for being patient with all
my questions, it means alot. Im th
